Underwater Robot Rescue

This project, modeled after the Thailand soccer team children cave rescue, challenged students to build an underwater robot that can navigate through the twists and turns of a cave system while carrying critical supplies. Students considered buoyancy, balance, material use, power sources, motor types, and propulsion design. Students worked in teams and were expected to follow the Engineering Design Process steps to successfully designing, building, and testing an underwater robot. Video of the robots navigating an underwater course were screened for the local community at Showcase.
